Tolkien Blog Party Tag!!

Hello dear readers and friends! Happy Hobbit Day! And a happy birthday to Bilbo and Frodo!! I finally made it to a computer to put up a post for the blog party that started yesterday. Make sure to go to Hamlette's blog to see the other related posts and enter the giveaway!

And now for the questions!

1. What Tolkien character do you think you're the most like?

Oh gosh this is a hard one. But I suspect I'm like Bilbo the most. Just a nobody really until someone pushes them to show their greatest potential... (*AHEM* GANDALF WHERE ARE YOU?! I'VE BEEN EXPECTING MY ADVENTURE!!)

2. What Tolkien character do you wish you were more like?

Our dear Samwise Gamgee of course! So patient and kind and just a real hero in my eyes :')

3. What would your dream home in Middle-earth be like?

A hobbit hole of course! One that isn't so large like Bag End though. A smaller, cozier one with a huge garden :)

4. You get to make a movie of the story of Beren and Luthien!  Who do you cast as the leads?

Ooh, a great question! If only I had read Beren and Luthien right away when my friend gave it to me :( I unfortunately cannot answer this question at the moment. BUT. Should I ever finish The Silmarillion OR Beren and Luthien, I will type up a post and give my answer haha

5. Have you ever marathoned the LOTR or Hobbit movies?

I certainly have! I like to marathon once a year, if possible! I own all the extended editions of LOTR and The Hobbit movies. It amounts to somewhere close to 24 hours! It's a lot of fun though and TOTALLY worth it.

I don't have this specific set but doesn't it look cool??

6. Do you have a favorite song or track from the movie soundtracks by Howard Shore?

Well Concerning Hobbits is my top favorite. But also My Dear Frodo from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. ALSO. The Courage of Hobbits? Evenstar?!? Honestly all the soundtracks is probably the best answer haha

7. Which of Tolkien's characters would you like to be best friends with?

All of them(?) But mostly Bilbo XD I feel like we would click and be the best buds ever and be inseperable :) Also, yes Bilbo is my fave!!

(I'm actually not LOL anywayyy next one!)

8. Who of the people in your real life would you want in your company if you had to take the ring to Mordor?

My sister and a few of my friends! They all have different talents that would be very helpful in taking the ring to Mordor. And they would make the journey very interesting/funny as well haha

9. Have you read any of Tolkien's non-Middle-earth works?

I started Sir Garwain and the Green Knight but haven't finished it :( I also hope to snag a copy of his Letters or On Fairy-Stories soon! I'm on the lookout for new Tolkien-related books wherever I go.

This is a cool cover :)

10. Is there a book by Tolkien you haven't read yet, but want to?

I don't know HOW many times I will attempt to finish The Silmarillion but it's at the tippity-top of my TBR list!! I still also have to read Beren and Luthien, The Fall of Gondolin, and The Children of Hurin.

This is the set I own but haven't read yet *hides in corner of shame*

And just like that, we've finished our first post for the week! Yay!

Oh, so you were just gonna post and not even tell me! That's rUde, Fawn.

Oh... you again. *sarcastic voice* Hello Frodo!

Oh come on, you know I come on here every year to post something! Your readers probably expect it, you know. They would probably even demand you let me write up a post.

I doubt it... But fine. We'll find a post for you to do tomorrow! Maybe a tag or something. You and I can look together! And if not, you can always come for a fall-related post to make up for it.

Yay :) if anyone has any ideas, please comment them!

I'm hoping to participate in a few more games this coming week! So be sure to come back or catch me blog hopping around the internet! We hope you have a splendidly hobbity day!

  1. *confetti* I'm so happy it's here!!

Whoa, all of them add up to 24 hours? Whew! That's a lot! I do want to marathon the LotR trilogy sometime because that would be epic!

Ah yes, Bilbo is the best. ;) But, I do love Frodo, too and am looking forward to his post! :D

    1. *sparkles* Me too!

Haha something like that! Although with brief pauses to eat our seven meals of course ;) the extended edition of LOTR is around 12 hours and much more accomplishable... (is that even a word?)

Riiiiiiight?? Frodo is pretty great too haha and he's working so hard to find something interesting to post once he saw your comment!! :D

  2. It took me like 6 months to read The Silmarillion. It's hearty and heavy and takes a lot of chewing ;-) I hear the second time through is a lot easier!

Love your autumnal blog look, btw!

    1. When I read Silmarillion, I did it with this read-along, and I found that super helpful. Although that blog is no longer active, the read-along posts are still there, which is great.
