The Hobbit 30 Day Challenge: Day 1

So my plan is to do a challenge so I can get used to posting everyday. I decided to do the Hobbit movie one because it looks purty easy(plus there isn't one based on the book). I feel the fire growing in me... I'm ready to start.

Bofur is my favorite dwarf. I mean, that scene between him and Bilbo is too cute! I started crying in the theaters...

And the "think furnace with wings" and "one moment of searing pain and poof! You're nothin' but a pile of ash!" that was really funny. They even made a keep calm...

This is one of the reasons I gave the movies some slack. They gave the dwarves some personality traits and helped them come to life. I don't think Tolkien even thought of his books becoming movies. But although there are things that I dislike about the movies, I'm still glad they were made.

Who's your favorite dwarf?

  1. My best friend and I made up a Middle Earth Movies Meme last year and did it -- it was so much fun! My favorite dwarf is Balin, and as I said here, Balin is endlessly kind to Bilbo, comforting him, explaining things to him, and obviously rooting for him through their various adventures. Also, Balin is old and wise, and knows how to talk people into things. I want to hang out with him and hear all his stories about his long life.

    But Bofur is my second-favorite!

    1. Balin is also one of my favorite! From 1st to 3rd: Bofur, Balin, and Ori. Although the last time someone asked, I said Balin was my 1st favorite XD

  3. I do like that the movie made an effort to give the dwarves personalities--it is nice that even though the dwarves didn't have much dialogue you are still able to choose a favorite. I'm going to have to agree with Hamlette and say my favorite is Balin also :)
